Baby Bachchan makes Rs.150 crore

After a guessing game that kept bookies and most of India in overdrive from last week, the Bachchan baby may be due for delivery today. According to sources, the Bachchan bahu has been admitted into the hospital for delivery today morning.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been admitted at the posh Seven Hills Hospital, instead of more established names like Breach Candy or JJ hospital.
Though there has been no official confirmation of this from the Bachchan family, a tweet that actor Amitabh Bachchan posted a few hours ago, is behind most of the buzz. In his tweet, the Bachchan patriach had said, "A day of expectation .. but another day ! The Lord has his ways and they are most special .. we wait !!"
There has been buzz around the Bachchan baby over the weekend. Aishwarya had gone to the hospital for a check-up on Saturday too, along with her husband Abhishek and sister-in-law Shweta Bachchan Nanda.
Mumbai: Even after the guidelines issued by the Press Council of India, the buzz and the news seems to hover around the Bachchan Baby ! According to some media reports bets worth millions of rupees are going to be placed on the sex of the unborn baby. Betting mafia who set to see millions of rupees change hands everyday, this time calls betting on the sex of unborn baby of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Since the  delivery date would draw near, betting would be intensified and the betting amount would surely see heavy ups and downs. It has been learnt from some media reports,  that some people associated with betting mafia are trying to contact Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s obstetrician in order to get a idea about the sex of the Aishwarya Rai’s newly born baby.

Bookies Betting picks up on gender of Aishwarya’s baby

Inspite of the strict restrictions on covering of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s baby delivery and making a breaking news around Aishwarya delivery, bookies didn’t stop in putting heavy bets and money in the tune of more than Rs. 150 Crores around Aishwarya Rai’s baby.
The much publicised baby showers and then the birthday celebration of mother-to-be Aishwarya Rai, has hardly kindled the gambling instincts of punters in Mangalore.
But punters in Mumbai and New Delhi bet heavily in crores on Aishwarya’s baby, expected in the second week of November. Punters in her birth place Mangalore are hardly breaking knuckles. The indifference of bettors in this port city with a long history of entrepreneurship and betting practices, is indeed baffling.
Punters here have a reputation of making hay while the sun shines by placing bets and raking tidy sums during traditional cock-fights, Kambla (wetland buffalo races), card games among others.
“What goes around comes around,” informs a member of the district Bunts sangha on condition of anonymity. Though Aishwarya was born into a Tulu-speaking Bunts community in Mangalore, she is somehow indifferent when it comes to identifying herself as a Mangalorean, he feels.

There may be restrictions on the news coverage around the birth of actors Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s baby, but that hasn’t stopped the bookies from betting big money on it.
Reports suggest that Rs 150 crore is riding on bets on whether Ash will deliver on November 11 or not.
“This date has come after hundreds of years and astrologers say it’s auspicious — that’s why it’s a hot favourite with most betters,” says a Delhi-based bookie.
“After 11.11.11, it’s Children’s Day that’s a favourite,” says a punter.
Reportedly, bets have also been placed on the gender of the child — 70 paise per rupee on a girl and 80 paise per rupee on a boy. The amount put up in the betting pool has allegedly reached the figures Indo-Pak cricket matches generally do.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is nine months pregnant, made a public appearance with husband Abhishek Bachchan at a party thrown by designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla in Mumbai on Tuesday.
